Linocut Tutorial
In this tuorial learn how to create your own linocut print from scratch. You can either use your own design or download the mushroom illustration below (please do not sell any art made with the illustration below, it is for educational purposes only). Have fun!
Materials list:
- Sketch
- Tracing paper
- Pencil/s
- Fineline permanent pen
- Lino (I use the grey, hessian backed lino - make sure it is fresh!)
- Sanding paper/block
- Acrylic paint (optional - for staining lino)
- Lino carving tools (I use Pfeil tools)
- Scissors
- Ink (I use Cranfield Caligo Safe wash inks)
- Wax drier (also by Cranfield)
- Roller/brayer
- Tray or Perspex sheet
- Paper
- Wooden spoon and/or glass baren
- 'Zest It' printmakers cleaner
- Kitchen towles and optinally wet wipes
