A Museum of Waxwings is a handmade linocut print of Bohemian Waxwings. This is a multi-layer (I forget how many, there were a lot!) reduction linocut print featuring three Bohemian Waxwings eating berries. Based on my own photographs of a flock I was lucky enough to have visit this winter. Printed onto gorgeous 51gsm Okawara Select paper, this is a limited edition of just 21 prints. Please note prints are unmounted and unframed.
A 'Museum' is the collective noun for a flock of waxwings, named for their elegant appearance, which can be compared to a curated exhibition.
Linocut is a form of relief printing where sharp tools are used to cut away areas of the lino block. The cut away regions stay white and the remaining block is printed.
Paper size - 52x43cm
As prints are made individually by hand, please expect slight variation in detail and colour density, which makes every print unique.
